Setting up the display in the fan zone

The UEFA Champions League is undoubtedly the most prestigious competition in European club football. The 2026 final was held at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal FC. The occasion was celebrated for four days in a dedicated fan zone. Prangl assisted with the installation of an inflatable display using a truck-mounted work platform.

A celebratory atmosphere for the final

As part of the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest, Heroes’ Square in the Hungarian capital was transformed into a huge, exciting fan zone with numerous attractions from 28 to 31 May 2026. Alongside interactive football games, activities organised by UEFA partners, a variety of entertainment programmes and appearances by football legends, the legendary UEFA Champions League trophy took centre stage. However, it was not only the original that attracted attention. The enormous replica of the trophy was also a popular photo opportunity. The organisers relied on Prangl to erect this display.

Truck-mounted work platform despite limited space

Several weeks before the actual operation, an on-site meeting between the project manager, platform operator and customer provided an insight into the conditions that could be expected: The lack of space would be the greatest challenge. Due to the limited space and the required working radius, a truck-mounted work platform with a maximum working height of 35.0 metres, a load capacity of 350 kilograms and a horizontal reach of 29.3 metres was selected. The operation of this machine was entrusted to a particularly experienced operator.

15-metre working height

The installation took place over several mornings. Each time, the aerial work platform had to be positioned within the extremely limited space available. The operator raised the installers so that they could carry out their work safely, while the striking decoration gradually took shape. The lifts were carried out with an outreach of approximately 22.0 metres. Work was performed at heights of up to 15.0 metres. Thanks to the reliable, modern machine and the experienced operator, everything went smoothly and the fan zone was a complete success. And for anyone who does not already know: Paris Saint-Germain are the winners of the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League.
